More Than 120 Years of Serving Baabda
For more than 120 years, the Baabda Youth Charity Association – جمعية شبان بعبدا الخيرية – has supported residents and families facing illness, poverty, and life’s difficulties.
Its history is closely intertwined with that of Baabda and Lebanon. Through periods of prosperity as well as crises, wars, and economic upheaval, generations of members, volunteers, and donors have shared the same conviction: solidarity must be translated into concrete action, always respecting the dignity of every individual.
The Association’s statutes, historical minutes, registers, and other documents preserved in its archives allow us today to retrace a significant part of this history.
Above all, they tell the story of practical acts of kindness: providing food for a family, purchasing medicines, contributing to a patient’s expenses, supporting an elderly person, helping a family in difficulty, or mobilising the community when Baabda and Lebanon face a crisis.
